Obituary of Heinz Schmidt

It is with great sadness the family of Heinz Schmidt announce his passing on October 4, 2019 in Quispamsis, NB. Born on February 6, 1938 in Essen, Germany, he was the son of the late Heinrich and Mia Schmidt.

 

Heinz was an engineer for several companies including: the Flakeboard Company, Thomas Equipment and T. S. Simms and Co. Ltd where he retired from. He was known as a man of routine. Heinz was an avid gardener, loved exercising and walking in the Irving Nature Park. He enjoyed all sports, especially soccer. Above all he was a true family man and loved his children and grandchildren dearly.

 

Heinz will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Nellie; son, Dwight Schmidt (Katherine) of Quispamsis; and daughters: Lisa Schmidt (Michael Farrer) of Woodstock, Yvonne Morehouse (Alton) of Fredericton and Wendy Pierce (Ambrose) of Hammonds Plains, NS; two step-daughters, Dawn Walsh (Rick) of Quispamsis and Lisa Ervin (Billy) of Nerepis; sister, Mia Penk of Germany; grandchildren: Daphne Clark (Adam), Danielle Andrews (Dave), Jarrett Pierce (Haley), Kendra Crowell (Drew), Peyton Schmidt and Brady Schmidt; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, Heinz was predeceased by his first wife, Marjorie.

 

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 12 PM to 2 PM followed by a funeral service at 2 PM in Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery.
