Obituary of Winnifred "Winnie" Thorburne

With heavy hearts, the family of Winnie (Craig) Thorburne announce her passing on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born December 19, 1925 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Allan and Belle (Veinot) Craig.

Winnie is survived by her daughters, Joan Kirby and Patricia “Patsy” Andrusyk; grandchildren: Jeff, Natalie (Adam), Kathy (Darren), Chris (Minh), and Dana (Laura); and great-grandchildren: Samantha and Erik, and Jolene and Valerie. Besides her parents, Winnie was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Thorburne; son-in-law, Doug Kirby; sisters, Lavinia and Phyllis; and brother, Allan Jr.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 6 to 8 pm at Mission Point Church, 130 Mark Drive, Saint John. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 1:30 pm, also from Mission Point Church. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
