Played badminton with and against Dave for many years. We shared lots of laughter, missed shots and errant returns on the court as well as plenty of friendly banter off court. It was a pleasure and a privilege to know Dave and he will be sorely missed. May the memories of a life well lived bring you comfort at this time.

God bless you berta & family,
I am so grateful for having known your Dave! He (and berta) cared enough for me while I was an unbeliever to have shared the Gospel of God's grace and to pray for me. Their faith in the Lord Jesus assisted in opening the windows of Heaven over me and for God's love through Christ to be revealed! For this I am forever grateful. It has now been 11 years of enjoying relationship with the Father and being freed from the sin & darkness which kept me bound for so long. I will never forget the look of sheer joy and relief when I told Dave & berta that Jesus had saved me! That is my best memory of Dave, but I am sure there will be more memories to come as we, who have placed our trust in Jesus Christ, live on and on. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." (Matt 28:30)
The Lord comfort all of your hearts deeply in the ways which only He can, which will in turn allow you to discover even more how His love truly knows no bounds!

Berta, Robbie, Matt, and family. Karen and I were very saddened to hear of David’s passing. You can take a measure of comfort from the realization that he is no longer in the grip of his debilitating condition. I have known David since we were kids on Courtenay Avenue. It is no exaggeration to say that he did not have a mean bone in his body. His good nature carried on through his adult and working life.
David was a true stalwart in his Faith, Family, and Friendships. It is gratifying to know that he was able to have many years of an active and fulfilling retirement and to enjoy his grandchildren in his final years. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Dave and I were neighbours on Courtenay Ave in Simonds from 1944 to 1962.
He was an “expert” at customizing and painting Dinkey toys which lead to his later love for automobiles. He played trumpet in the 527 Simonds Air Cadet band where he later earned his wings.
He enjoyed his time at CFBC on Carleton Street. I remember him as a great friend and know that he will be missed by many, even though it was several years ago since I last saw him in the Walmart Parking lot out east. Sincere sympathy to Berta and family.

I am so very sad to hear that Uncle Dave has passed on. Many childhood memories will keep him alive in our hearts. Even though in recent years our meetings grew less common, I shall nonetheless miss the times when we would discuss the ins and outs of various cars. He did indeed love his driving!
Much love to Berta, Rob, Matt and the entire family.

Dear Berta & Family
We are thankful that the Lord directed our paths to meet. We have warm memories of David and your visits and are saddened that David has "crossed the river" ahead of us. We know that this parting is just for now and that our faith family will be reunited in the "city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God."
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." 2 Corinthians 3:18
With love in our Lord Jesus Christ

I was saddened to hear of David's passing. I am glad he had the trip out west with Berta and we and Sandra had time to spend with you both. We had great times growing up on Courtenay avenue with all the local friends. Dave being an only child spent a lot of time at our house and was a life long friend of Keith, Sandra and I. I will and do most certainly treasure our friendship since pre school days to now.
Jim and my prayers and thoughts will be with you on the week-end; sorry I can't be there in person. Ann

I remember Dave as a small boy growing up in the meeting and often many times at their home and interacting with the boys. In later years it was always nice to see them for mom and dads Christmas eve get together. He was one of the kindest and gentle men I have ever known. Soft spoken yet assertive. Skilled in so many ways and always wiling to lend a kind word and a hand. After his retirement he spent much time at the shop with dad tinkering away on different projects and we attribute much of the wonderful work done around there and mom and dads house to him. He will be missed but his honored memory will live on in those who knew him.
