Obituary of Dale Basil McLaughlin
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Dale Basil McLaughlin husband of Janet (Beatteay) McLaughlin of Saint John which occurred on Monday, December 23, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in St. Stephen on September 21, 1954 he was a son of the late Basil and Ida McLaughlin.
He was employed with Peacocks and Reynolds Flower and Garden Centre. He enjoyed working in the Community Garden and helping his neighbors.
Besides his wife Janet he is survived by two step-daughters: Amanda Rushton- Morrison (Matt) of Quispamsis and Cynthia Rushton of Saint John; four sisters: Helena Goodine (Sanford), Patricia Comeau (Robert), Wanda Childs and Audrey Doiron (Richard); two brothers: Mark McLaughlin and Allison McLaughlin; six grandchildren: Logan, Brayden, Sofie, Chance, Luke and Max; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by three brothers: Larry, Roger and Jeffrey; one brother-in-law: Daniel Childs and his faithful dog Shelby Girl.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, December 26, 2019 from 2-8 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be placed at www.brenansfh.com.
