To the Quinn family, I wish that all of us could live a long life and have as many fond memories as Frank Quinn .
He always had a nice story to tell and with his great sense of humor that we all loved.
They say, the measure of a man is his family . How true in Franks case. All you have to do look at the great bunch of kids he and Loraine raised.
God bless you Francis and please say hi to Loraine and Pat for me. They have been missed dearly.
Love, Chuck and Betty Simon.

Our deepest sympathies to the Quinn family. So sorry the weather affected our plans to join you.
Uncle Frank was special, so many fond memories.
Spending time on Brandy Point Road was a highlight of many summers growing up. I remember those "rare" occasions when Lorraine was giving Frank a hard time and Frank would always have this wonderful smile on his face while nodding and responding to Lorraine. And then Lorraine would break into a smile and say "Francis!". I also remember how much Frank and my dad enjoyed each other's company, always reminiscing about their younger days with colorful stories - helped explain why Frank was so patient with Kevin in his youth! And finally, we were visiting with Frank and Lorraine when my family was younger. Frank took my son John, who was 5, aside and had quite a lengthy chat with him. John was going to bed that night and had a stuffed lobster toy with him and we asked what the lobster's name was, He said Frank.
That was my Uncle Frank, a loving husband and father and a special uncle.

To my cousins,
I have so many wonderful memories of the visits and then summers spent at the cottage. My Mom and Dad really loved it there and were their happiest when at the cottage. It was so important for Mom to be close to her sister but Dad so enjoyed Uncle Frank! Every day I came home from the golf course I wondered what they would be up to…especially if Mom and Aunt Lorraine went to an auction. It was odd but I usually expected to see them on the roof of one of our cottages???
One day after getting back from golf Dad asked me to give Uncle Frank a hand cleaning out that old garage at the top of the driveway where we parked (probably because Uncle Frank always helped everyone). I went down to the garage and asked if he needed a hand which he graciously accepted (in retrospect I think this was pre-arranged between them). Over the next few hours we talked and worked and he would ask me what was going on in my life and he would tell me a few stories when he was my age. What really struck me and still resonates with me today is how comfortable Uncle Frank made me feel. What should have been a tedious and dusty afternoon (there were ALOT of spiders) stills sits with me today as a very fond memory. I realized that while our families spent so much time together I was actually lucky enough to have some very quiet time with my Uncle…and a lasting memory I will always cherish.
All of the Hollands are so disappointed we could not be there with you.
Love and prayers to all of you.

I have so many memories of our summer times on Brandy Point Rd, it was a place full of joy and fun where my parents seemed most happy thanks to our hosts Aunt Lorraine and Uncle Frank.
I have a common memory of Uncle Frank with a cocktail in hand laughing under his breath the way he did saying geez and telling a joke or story. I also seemed to recall him calling for Kevin often and perhaps not in the most friendly of tones :)
I was really shy as a little girl intimidated by most adults but Uncle Frank had a warmth, joy and generosity to him that always made me feel at ease. It is heartening to know he is now with Aunt Lorraine; thank you both so much …… you taught us the power of family, gathering, generosity and love
a tradition that has clearly been passed down through the Quinn's, Lafford's and Holland's, it’s no wonder we all love a good family gathering.
……a little boiled frosting with cherries always helps the celebration too !

Our sincerest sympathies to the Quinn family, so sorry weather has disrupted out plans to be there.
Wanted to share a few of my fondest memories of Uncle Frank
He had a genuine warmth that he could surround you with. When he said your name it just sounded different, it meant something, he just made you feel special and he did it with a disarming smile and mischievous twinkle in his eye. I can see that look like it was yesterday.
He was also an incredibly patience man that would serve him will raising Kevin and Pat. We tested that patience one particular night when we all went fishing in the river and landed a big fish and of course had to immediately show Frank . Frank was on call and dead asleep in the bedroom when we barged in and Kevin with fish in hand dropped it on the bed. Frank without missing a beat said “ geez that’s great looking fish Kevin” all with Lorraine screaming bloody murder in the background that we had breached the inner sanctum.
I also recall sailing the Saint John river with our Harbour Pilot Uncle at the helm who was suprisingly getting direction from Lorraine on how to sail the boat. He just took it all in stride and nodded his head with each request….and yes miraculously got us all home safe ; )
So here’s to Uncle Frank for showing us how to be genuine, kind, patient and thoughtful. We were blessed to have you as an Uncle and a friend.
Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you.

Very saddened to learn this morning of Frank's passing. He was an admired and respected pilot and a credit to the industry he served and loved so much My father (Harold) thought the world of Frank and I did as well. You always knew where you stood with him and always had respect for his decisions when piloting vessels into and out of Saint John Harbor. My sincere condolences.

Any time a passing of one of the members of a family that grew up in the great neighborhood of Quinton Heights in the 60s, 70s and 80s it reminds me of how carefree those times were.As part of those memories ,I remember your Dad as a mild ,nice man who seemed to have an easy smile and a calming demeanor. A wonderful man, a loving husband, father, uncle and friend - Uncle Frank was all of these and more. His leadership and piloting skills helped make Port Saint John known globally as a safe Port with expert pilots - simply the best! Frank was a terrific Uncle and had great influence on his family which I was proud to be part of as his nephew. Allowing me as a young person to work in the Port on-board the “Arizona” definitely influenced my decision to follow in the steps of the Quinn seafaring tradition and I very much enjoyed the many discussions and advice Frank provided me in my early career and in my early years as CEO at Port Saint John... not to mention the odd beverage we were able to quietly enjoy under the watchful eye of Aunt Lorraine!
A life well lived - he will be missed! Lynn and I offer our most sincere sympathies and condolences to our friends and cousins - the Quinn family.
