Obituary of Patricia Marie Hansen
The family of Patricia Marie Hansen sadly announces her peaceful passing on January 30, 2020. Now free from conditions that began to hinder a reasonable quality of life in her recent residency at Chateau de Champlain. Pat Hansen returns to the loving comfort of her parents in Heaven and other predeceased family members and dear ones. Pat was born on October 17, 1930 in Saint John, daughter of the late G.S. “Pete” and Marguerite (Cronin) Hansen.
A life-time resident of Saint John, Pat worked at the New Brunswick Museum on Douglas Avenue for 25 years with enthusiastic commitment within the Natural History Department. She had countless jovial exchanges with colleagues, a disciplined work ethic to meet the curator’s tasks including being familiar with the catalogued displays of flora and fauna, as well her sweet disposition impressed upon the Museum visitors.
Through the years Pat had a special way of extending her attentive and loving care to her parents, her sisters, her aunts, other family members, close friends and felines. Pat cherished her time at her summer cottage on Kennebecasis Island where she shared her love of nature, stories of family history, cheerful humour and inspiring poetry over the years. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Pat will lovingly be remembered by her sister, Peggy Nadeau (Raymond); nephew, Peter Nadeau (Patti); nieces, Patricia Nadeau-Sangster (Stephen), Michele Nadeau; cousins; great-nephews: Jordan, Tyler, Ryan, and many dear friends.
Pat was predeceased by her parents, Pete and Marguerite; and sister, Joan Hansen.
Cremation will take place at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424).
