I have always thought and wondered about Mr. Stockford, he was an amazing teacher who left a lifetime impression on myself and i'm sure many others, the sounds of silence written on the chalkboard, and the record player playing those songs in class, hoping to reach us through music and words, i am saddened to hear of his passing and now his wife Helen, whom i never had the chance to meet, may you both rest in peace, and the work you have done for all creatures continue through everyone who knew you..

Dear Helen, Cathy and all extended family of Lawson Stockford;
First, I must apologize for being so late sending our condolences. I left NB mid January and have just returned recently and am catching up on the newspaper obituaries from the past 6 weeks or so.
On behalf of the executive and membership of Saint John Vocational Alumni Association I send most sincere sympathy in the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. From reading the condolences you were both thought very highly of by former students.
Our thoughts and prayers for strength and comfort will continue to be with you as you traverse this most difficult path on the road of life. May time heal the pain but never dull the wonderful memories you have each shared together and remember to hold them close.
Again, so sorry for your great loss and deepest sympathy to you & your extended family during this most difficult time.
Sincerely,
Louise Jonah-Craine ('62)
Alumni Liaison

“Greatest teacher of all times. “. This man made such an impression on my life.
I always thought he was in deep thought, after reading his obituary, I know I wasn’t wrong.
So many things I did not know about this wonderful person.
Sorry I didn’t make it in to celebrate of his life with you, due to the weather.
Mrs. Stockford I last time spoke with you at Sobey, and Sir was waiting in the car. I did have a chat with him, so glad I did.
Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Helen and family: Saddened to hear the news of Lawsons passing. We met in later life but had so much in common and many lovely drives searching some of the lovely parts of southern N.B even finding vegetable stands with potatoes along the way.
May God be with you and comfort you and the family at this time of parting.
My love - Don

Well “Sir” it’s your final curtain call. So many great memories with you in English class at Voc 79-84. You brought out the weird poetry Poe, albums of weird music Gordon Lightfoot and really made me dissect those weird words. You gave me the love of reading every weird book. You never forgot your past students. I’ll never forget you. Rest well Sir. Say high to all your favorite poets up there.
