Obituary of Brian Douglas Moore
It is with broken hearts that the family of Brian Douglas Moore, loving husband of Susan Moore, announce his passing on February 4, 2020 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born on April 15, 1953 in Quebec City, Quebec, he was a son of the late William and Evelyn (Bunker) Moore.
Brian, a Fredericton native, established his company, Fundy Fencing Limited, in 1979. Brian was active in community affairs having served as President of the Union Club and Atlantic Fence Industry Association, Commodore of the Royal Kennebecasis Yacht Club and on Saint John’s Planning Advisory Committee. Brian was President of the Cliff Club, Vice-Chairman of the YMCA Endowment Board and the Chair of the Miramichi Salmon Association. Brian was also instrumental in raising funds to build the new Regional YMCA. One of Brian’s proudest achievements was writing a book dedicated to his great-great grandfather, Samuel J. Moore, titled “Printer’s Devil” which became published.
Brian will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Susan; brother, David Moore (Janet) of Saint John; nephew, Ryan Moore; nieces, Cathleen Trafton and Christa Moore; and brother-in-law, Aaron Trafton (Margie). Brian was predeceased by his parents.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 3-7 PM. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date.
