Obituary of Edith Laurita Taylor
After a life well lived, Edith Laurita Taylor (Jones) passed away peacefully at the wonderful age of 106 on February 10, 2020.
Ede was born December 27, 1913 to Laurita (Dauphinee) and William Griffin Jones. Ede was a lifelong resident of Saint John and for the past 70+ years had lived in Golden Grove.
Ede was predeceased by her parents, her husband Ernest James, her sister Marjorie Abigail, best friend Elsie Wisted and niece Valerie Evans.
Ede was a life long member of the Pythian Sisters Loyalist Lodge Temple 13. She was also a member of the Seniors Club.
The family has many fond memories of Ede, her delicious squares that she made for every family get together, her bad driving skills, how she could whip up a new outfit in a day when required, how she was always up for an adventure, planned or not, her love of animals and her sense of loyalty and minding her own business. She loved to sing and bowled well into her nineties.
She will always be remembered by her nephew Jon Taylor (Anne), niece Janice Bridgeport (Doug), several great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and even some 3x great nieces and nephews, Michael and Donna Wisted and a wide circle of caring friends.
The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care Ede received while she was a resident of Hopewell Court in Rocmaura Nursing Home. Thank you all!
