Obituary of Miriam Secord

It is with appreciation for a life well-lived that the family of Miriam F. Secord announces her passing, which occurred on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at the age of 100. Born in Saint John on October 12, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Helen (Chipman) McDonald.

Miriam will be missed by her daughter, Donna King; grandson Michael King (Marielena); great-grandson Liam and great-granddaughter Laneah; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her mother, Miriam was predeceased by her husband George A. Secord.

Miriam was a faithful member of the former St. Joachim’s church, a current member of St. Ann’s church, and a member of St. Joachim’s CWL for many years.

Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 2:00 – 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Sts. Joachim and Ann Parish (135 Simpson Drive, Saint John) on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
