My sister, Nancy, told me about "Jimmy" Morris' passing and it was touching to reminisce about how excited our mother, Mary Alexander, would get when he was presenting one of his Christmas or St Patrick's Day performances. He was such a gift to Saint John. Thank you and RIP.

I was just reading all the memories and stories about Mr Morrison - I also remember him fondly - he was such a beautiful singer, of course, we had him for music in grades 7, 8. 9 at Saint Peters. His enthusiasm and big booming voice just made you want to sing out and really get into the song - especially when he conducted the church congregation at Saint Peters on Sundays. Singing was also my favorite past time, so I looked forward to his music class - he will never be forgotten by those he taught, for sure RIP

Mr Morris was my favourite teacher. In grade nine, while Martha McLean (above) wrote on the back of my neck, Jim would play "I Am A Rock" on the piano at the back of his classroom. What a character. I was in his choirs, grade 5 and grade 6 at St. Pete's, we sang background for a Saint John Opera Society (I think) production of "Carmen", a Dufferin School "Alice in Wonderland", NB Music Festivals, CHSJ Empty Stocking Fund shows. He had amazing charisma, an infectious zest for life, and was really funny.

Mr Morris was undoubtedly my favourite teacher. Attending the musicals was a major treat, he seemed to have such fun. And the music was magical. His attitude to life left a strong impression, so much that I still think of him frequently. A life well lived.
Deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

As a parishioner of St. Augustines Parish I have enjoyed Jim's gift of music for many years. Jim was a bright light in our parish even when he shouted at us to sing louder. In the last few years he would fill in at the organ when we had no one to bring us music. He was a wonderful member of our community and we will all miss him.

I had the honour and pleasure of living next door to James and his family in the 1970's. He was a kind and caring man with a great sense of humor and a hearty laugh. Though I haven't seen him in years, I can honestly say, that there have been many times when I have seen or heard something that reminded me of James and it brought a smile to my face. May the good Lord wrap his loving arms around James and his family.

My condolences to all of Jim's family with his passing. I sang with Jim in The Friends of Music for many years, and on more than one occasion was in a state of uncontrollable laughter over somethng he said or did.
Most recently I sang at Parkland and we had a great reunion, and as always Jim had lots to say about everything and all those around him.
A big man with an even bigger personality who was always "teaching"!
You will be missed.

Dear Dennis, please accept my sincere condolences on Jim's passing. Jim was a mentor to me when I was a substitute teacher at St.Peter's Intermediate School, telling me what I was doing wrong in the presentation of my material to the students.
I will remember him for his musical abilities and his presence at the Men of Fundy concerts at Shannex in Millidgeville. I will also remember Jim for his solo performances at noon in the school where he had a piano and would play the music and sing along with it. You could hear him in the hallway when he was doing this.
Please be gentle with yourself during this difficult time.

Dear Dennis,
Lou and I did not have the pleasure of having met your brother. It is obvious though from this obituary, he was quite a special man. Over the years, we have heard Clare speak so fondly about her Uncle Jim and we can now get a sense of why he was much loved by your family.
Our deepest condolences to all the family at this difficult time.

Mr. Morris taught me in grade 9 at St. Peter’s. I still remember his dramatic flare and enthusiasm in teaching. As his student, you certainly were involved in learning with him. I saw him recently at Shannex and said hello. He still had that “joie de vivre”. Rest In Peace, Mr. Morris.
