Dear Family of Bernice - I only recently learned of Bernice's passing and I am therefore, apologetically very late with my condolences. My friendship with Bernice began when I joined Public Works Canada in 1977 and I dare say, I saw and spoke with her almost daily up until her retirement. After that, we would run into each other periodically around town or at various events and we would always have a chat and a hug. One subject which always came up was you, her family, and how interested and proud she was in all that each of you were doing. Another memory I have of Bernice is her colorful fashion and stylish hats; she was always on point when she was "out and about" and this always made me smile. Bernice was well known and well respected by the many who knew her throughout the Customs Building at 189 Prince William Street. My condolences to all of her family.

Mom and I had a good relationship all of the longest 28 years we were inseparable confirmed together and mom was baptized the night before by Arch Deacon Harry Quinn for her gift from him at St.Luke's church with a young gentleman in the little chapel.
To all who had the privilege to know her, they were blessed (IE) Family, extended family and friends Following mom's pasting I entered the room of an angel who appeared to have a calming peace about Her. A warm smile upon her face to touch was like soft silk, Her hair shiny and curls just right and aura framing her face as bright as the sun could shine and I knew at that moment that mom was with our lord and savior.
During this time of Covid-19 crises in our world, we will wait until such time to celebrate mom's life with you all to honor her work, love and dedication that she gave to us and to the world in which we live
May each and everyone of you know that mom loved you all in her own special way! May peace be with you and your families.
Sincerely'
Rae

Rae.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure Bernice will be missed in all your lives. I first met your mom at the income tax building and then in our store as she liked nice furniture. This is where she introduced me to you. I always enjoyed her soft humble demeanor. I know she will live on through you and your sibblings.
God Bless.

My sincere condolences to the family.
I had the privilege to spend a portion of my youth with the Palmer family. John and I spent evenings at each other's homes as he and I were the best of friends. This relationship stemmed from the long and close relationship between our Mothers. Our Moms worked so hard and always had time to prepare meals and
Provide the care and guidance all children require. Bernice would work a long shift at the post office and come home face the housework and of course me at the dinner table.
I left Saint John shortly after High school to join the RCMP I know that Bernice was very proud and she made me and my Mom aware that she cared. Over the years both my sister and I kept in touch with Bernice and she was always a first stop when we traveled back home. My sister Jennie was very close to NOLA and they stay in touch to this day. In later years we had occasion to visit Bernice and Glidden very often and it was obvious that she had found true happiness in her later years. Her family rallied to provide support in her retirement and I'm sure that made her so proud.
REST IN PEACE BERNICE.
I LOVED MY SECOND MOM.
