Obituary of Paula Dawn Nason

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Paula Dawn Nason (Mersereau) on March 21st, 2020. Paula is now with her Lord, free from pain and sorrow for all of eternity. She is at perfect peace and experiencing the fullness of joy as she reunites with her loved ones and meets her Savior face to face.

Paula was born in Fredericton Junction on December 9th, 1931. She was the daughter of Paul and Edith (Johnston) Mersereau. Paula was predeceased by her parents, sister Helen Breen, brothers David and Paul Mersereau, as well as by her husband Kenneth in 2013.

Paula is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Settle (Danny) of Saint John and her son, Gregory Nason (Christina) of Millgrove, Ontario, as well as six grandchildren, Luke Settle (fiancé Sarah Peters), Caleb Settle (Lianne), Sonia Adams (Robert), Ken Nason (Amanda), Anjuli Nason, Anna Ward (Matthew), and great grandchildren Leo, Robert, Thomas, Timothy Adams and Lilliana Nason, along with several nieces and nephews.

Paula was a former school teacher, having taught in various schools throughout New Brunswick. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and a Dominion Life Member of the Women’s Missionary Society. Paula will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her gentle and kind spirit, her love for her grandchildren and for her positivity and perseverance throughout her life.

Paula’s favorite summer time place was Oromocto Lake, where she enjoyed swims in the lake and the warmth of the sun. Paula and Ken loved to explore country roads with their camping van and ventured to Florida on many occasions during the winter months.

Paula will be deeply missed by her family and friends. We would like to sincerely thank the Turnbull Nursing Home staff for their care over the past few years.
