Duane,
Sincerest sympathy to you and all your family on the death of your dear mother.
I am reminded of a very stormy evening a number of years ago when I was unable
to get to Holy Trinity Church on Rockland Road for the Parish Mass and knew that the return home
to Somerset Street would be impossible. I got a call from Mack offering help and what should appear on the horizon but you and your blizzard worthy vehicle that got me there and back safely. I recall it as the night the Waterloo Street Baptist Boys came to the rescue! In Cape Breton where I grew up, an act of kindness like yours would usually elicit the comment,
"He must have a good mother!" How true that was for you and your family. I hope that the thoughts and prayers of
many will be a source of strength and a reminder of God's love for you all at this difficult time..

Dear: Duane, Wendy, Matthew, Jessica, Lindsay, Brittaney, and Family - It is with a heavy heart that I write this condolence. For anyone to know my Aunt, Lorraine Boone, was to also love her and if she knew you then you were her friend. Regardless of age, it is always too soon to lose someone we love and I send my deepest condolences and heart felt thoughts to you all at this trying time. I remember my recent and last visit with Aunt Lorraine at her home and take comfort in knowing she was granted enough time to visit with so many whom she loved dearly. She was brave, strong, and left an incredible legacy here on Earth. I remember she made the finest corn chowder which I had the pleasure of eating during one of my visits last year. I also remember all the fun times at the summer home in Bell-isle and swimming at the beach when we were children, visiting during those hot summer months. Aunt Lorraine proved to have incredible persiverince and was long-suffering in her journey of life.
Dearest Aunt Lorraine, these following words are my own and something I wanted to share in your memory:
The stinging pain of losing you is deep,
Whilst we mourn our loss we weep,
Memories of you in our dreams while we sleep,
Someone loved dearly we couldn't forever keep,
Until such time we crossover and once again meet.
Rest in Peace Aunt Lorraine.

Duane, Wendy and families please accept our condolences from the west coast. Sherry and I thought the world of Lorraine Boone. One of our best memories of her was on August 19, 2017 when she was standing at the reversing falls bridge in the storm. She was there in her pink rain jacket to cheer on a small group of cyclists making their way over the bridge on a fund raising mission. Best cheer leader ever.

To Wendy, Dwayne & families.... Your dad & mom came to Old Perlican, NL back in 1997 in search of your dad’s family roots. His grandmother, Olivia (Strong) Boone was born in Old Perlican & was a sister to my grandmother, Dorcas (Strong) Howell. They met several of their Howell relatives & returned again in 2001. This time, apart from visiting Old Perlican, they went to Fogo Island where your dad’s grandfather was born & came to visit us in Lewisporte. That was the start of a beautiful friendship which continued over the years -lots of letters, emails & 2 hr. phone calls. In 2012, Jim & I had the privilege of visiting your mom in Saint John & meeting several of our Boone relatives. It was a trip we’ll never forget. Your mom & Uncle Paul made sure of that. We just loved your mom & our hearts were broken when she informed us of her diagnosis. Be assured our thoughts & prayers are with you all at this difficult time. Sending Angel Hugs. Jim & Marie Cramm

Wendy, Duane and Families,
Words cannot express my deepest sympathy with the passing of your beloved Mom, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Lorraine was so proud of her family, holding each dear to her heart.
Truly a blessing to all who were touch by Lorraine’s unweaving love, kindness, friendship, concerns for our world and the beauty she found in each adventure.
I shall forever treasure the chuckles, adventures, our chats, tears of sadness and laughter of joy, our bond of Fred and Eric and clothespins.

Susan and Hannah and I were so sorry to hear that your mom, grandmother, and sister was no longer with us. While we know she is in a better place, we sure will miss her huge smile and the big-hearted kindness that exuded from her. She always stopped to speak with any of us when we were out and about and showed a keen interest in asking about others in the family. And she even took the time to help me with some old family photos in the last couple of weeks. She was just a lovely lady in every way. We trust the confidence Lorraine held in God even as she faced the end of her life here on Earth will help all of you in some small way as you grieve her loss.
