Obituary of Russell Edward Clerke
The family of Russell Edward Clerke, husband of the late Lorna (Guier) Clerke, announce his peaceful passing on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at his residence in Turnbull Nursing Home. Born February 27, 1925 in Albert Mines, NB, he was a son of the late Emery and Effie (Milton) Clerke.
Russell worked for Sumner Co. for 46 years and was branch manager in Campbellton for many years. He was a quiet man with a gentle smile who treasured and loved his family. He enjoyed many outdoor activities with family and friends including camping, snowmobiling and fishing. Russell spent many hours with saw and hammer building or fixing things for himself and others.
Russell is survived by his daughter, Roxanna “Roxie” Meek (Dr. David Meek) and several nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Carol. Besides his wife and his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers: Blair, Randolph, Rev. Earl, Leon, and Charles.
Russell’s family would like to thank the staff of the Turnbull Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care over the last six years.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). There will be no funeral service or visitation. A private interment will take place at a later date in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens, Moncton. For those who wish, remembrances to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
