Obituary of Dawn Louise Smith

It is with great sadness that the family of Dawn Louise Smith announce her passing on Friday, May 8, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on July 15, 1948, she was a daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Murphy) Bartlett.

Dawn enjoyed knitting, reading, and was well known for her baking (especially at Christmas!). Above all she loved her family and especially spending time with her cherished grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Dawn will be lovingly remembered by her children, Barbara Vautour-McGraw (Maurice), Tina Cook (Luke), Michael Wayne Vautour (Kim) and Tracy Vautour-Montyr (Roland); sisters, Joan Richard (Guy) and Linda Steele (the late Wayne); grandchildren, Anthony, Natasha, Chyanne, Tiffany, Jessica, Jillise, Samuel and Mackenzie; many great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews including special niece, Heather and special nephew, Guy.

In addition to her parents, Dawn was predeceased by her infant grandson, Cory; brothers, Billy, Jimmy and Donald; sisters, Betty, Nancy and Ruth.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Due to the current health restrictions a funeral service will be held at a later date.
