I am so sorry for your loss. We miss Reg and have fond memories of him. One of mine includes the visits he would make to my office; he would have a few short words with me and give me that big wonderful smile. Warms my heart to think of that.
Thank you for the privilege of getting to know him.
I pray for your comfort and peace.

Mr. McLean, such a gentle and kind hearted man! A pillar on Sherwood Drive! You are the definition of what a good neighbour should be - watching out for the good of others, and a true friend. Your smile and friendliness will be greatly missed by our family!

Reggie is a remarkable man, who my parents and entire family revered and who was a tremendous blessing to our family!! I will never forget the tremendous, tremendous help he was to my Mom, when my Dad passed. He made things so much easier. Thank you Reggie for being such a treasure for our family. I remember Reg as the tenacious basketball player. I joined the 40+ Tuesday night boys early as it relates to age. It must of been something Dave arranged. What I witnessed on my first night was something not less than a miracle. An old guy running the floor like he was a pro....maybe better than pro, you know how lazy pros can be. I thought to myself father time forgot to tell him he was too old to play like that. From then on I admired Ref for his play and sportsmanship. I cherish those days. I cherish Reg, Dave and the family.

Mr. McLean - we will miss you! Sorry for all of the things I broke at your house...windows, lightbulbs...etc. You never got mad...just a snicker as if to say "there she goes again!" Growing up on Sherwood Drive was great with you across the street. My heart is with you Stephanie, Mark, and David.

Reggie, as he was fondly known by many, was one of the good guys. Never heard him say a bad word about anyone. What a great teammate to have on Tuesday night basketball, always played hard. I’ll always remember the time that Reggie aka ‘the machine’ drove me, Dave and Marcel to Boston to watch the Celtics play - he drove all the way down and back. He was patient sharing a room with us clowns and always up for whatever. I am certainly better for knowing Reg. Rest In Peace, you will be missed and never forgotten.

Stephanie, Mark, David and families..
I felt such deep sadness when I got the call that your Dad had passed on. I have such fond memories of sitting out on the back deck chatting with him and your Mom. He had such a great smile and always had a kind word for every body! His red truck always shone in the sun...never a speck of dust on it! I know his health went downhill over the last couple if years, and when I heard that he had to leave his home on Sherwood Drive, I felt so bad! He was an icon in the Heights! He loved all if you so much and was so proud of you. My heart goes out to all of you at this time..Covid has made our lives so much more difficult these days! Reg (I can hear your Mom saying 'Reggie' in her soft voice) will live on in the hearts and memories of all of you, as well in the hearts of the many friends he has left behind! He will be at peace now with your dear Mom!! RIP, my friend!! See you in August when we can share stories and celebrate his life! Sending with deepest condolences and affection from the O'Reilly family, formerly of the corner of Swanton & Sherwood!!!

Dear Stephanie, Mark and David and families
We were so very sorry to learn that your dad passed away. He and your mom were absolutely the nicest people. We were fortunate to have them as our neighbours for many years. I know that the situation has been made more difficult with, first, placement in a nursing home and then much to everyone's dismay, COVID restrictions. Rest assured that your families WILL come together to remember and celebrate a life well-lived even though it will be later than what is desired.
Our hearts go out to you.

We have lost a dear friend here in Reg McLean, one of the smartest men I have ever met. He was so proud of his family and spoke often of his son's David and Mark and his daughter Stephanie whom he cherished. He loved his grandchildren and bragged about them as often as he could. He spoke very highly of his sisters and brothers and enjoyed their "Movie Nights". Reg played basketball with our group for over 40 years and even after he stopped playing he continued to come out on Tuesday nights to keep score and observe the play. A true gentleman and a "Special Guy" who will be missed by our group. RIP my friend. Tom Davidson

Anne and I extend our heartfelt sympathies to the McLean family.
I played basketball with Reg for over 40 years. He was a tremendous competitor. He was kind, well read, informed and highly intelligent. Reg was truly an All-Star on and off the basketball court.
