To Judy, Michelle and Barb. I was so saddened this morning to hear of Bob’s passing. Bob was a great guy and I always enjoyed going to work when we were on shift together in New Minas. You were guaranteed a good laugh or interesting story for sure. He was so well respected by everyone in the policing field, the court system, the community and even the criminal element. Whenever he spoke of you and the girls Judy, he always smiled with pride. Please know that I am thinking of you at this time and I am only sorry I couldn’t be there to see Bob off. He will be missed.

Judy,
It was with great sadness that we learned of Bob’s passing. He was my trainer in Antigonish back in 1979. He taught me a lot and we had a great time together. You might not remember this but when I arrived in Antigonish I was newly married and there was no available lodging in Antigonish, you and Bob took me and Karen in until an apartment building was finished being built. I remember as if it was yesterday. We will always be grateful for that.
My deepest condolences.

It is with a heavy heart we say goodbye to "Uncle" Bob. He was always trying to make me, my sister, and my cousins laugh. I remember, when I was much too young to drive, he allowed me to sit in the drivers seat of his corvette. I was so excited, a memory I will always cherish. He was able to meet my daughter, January, his great grand niece. For this I will always be grateful.

My heartfelt condolences to the family. Bob was one hell of a guy. Some of the best times in my life was when I worked for him at the Irving Big Stop in Digby. Lots of good times, laughs and storytelling. I loved working the mid night shift with Bob, he had some of the best stories and the locals would come in and sit with us for coffee and we’d all bust a gut laughing.
Whenever I worked that shift with him he’d get me to cook breakfast for us at 5am.

I have no first memory of Bob, He has always been there, a kind, humble guy, sweet and often throwing some corny joke in the midst. I lived with Bob and Judy when I was a teenager, He would pick me up at school in a R.C.M.P. cruiser and set tongues wagging, we would go on his bike and have a snack at KFC. One of my favourite memories of Bob, was listening to him read to his girls in Kermit the frog's voice at bedtime, and the following crash as he flipped backwards in their little rocking chair. The girls would giggle at his antics then he had to calm them down for sleep. He was a wonderful Uncle I will miss him terribly. I already do. Rest easy Bob, I love you

Aunt Judy, Michelle and Jason, Liam, Callum, and Barb and John, my heart is broken for you.
Only fifteen years my senior Uncle Bob was a funny, active, young uncle, achieving legendary status, in my mind, for attempting to stretch himself in the old barn so as to qualify for the RCMP. His love for his future wife,Judy, was already apparent, and their wedding is the first I remember.
There are so many memories that define Uncle Bob for me: His love, sense of humour (and forgiveness) as on display when given a “piggy power” Miss Piggy poster, his bolting from his kitchen to ensure that screeching tires had naught to do with his daughter, and when he visited when I was a teen, and we went for a jog: He passed me going in the other direction and arrived so far ahead of me that a search party was being struck when I finally straggled in.
That was my Uncle Bob, a smile on his face, a sparkle in his eye, I loved him, and already miss him. -Daryl

One of my earliest childhood memories is seeing an RCMP cruiser parked in our driveway. To me that meant I could maybe turn on the siren or the lights for a second or too. Playing "cops and robbers" (politically incorrect nowadays) for us meant that the person playing the "cop" got to wear an actual "hand-me-down" police hat. very exciting for a kid growing up in Paradise, NS. "That good old mountain dew..." was the song "uncle Bob" would play if we asked him enough. Richard really loved Bob's Firebird Trans Am.
My brother Richard and I thought Bob and Judy were actually our aunt and uncle for the longest time. We would see them often while Bob was posted in Bridgetown and when they moved, our family would visit.
It is with heavy heart that I write these words today.
My deepest sympathy's to Judy, Michelle, Jason, Liam and Callum, Barb and John, and Jean.
