Bonnie & Maya
Great co-worker. Tony and I worked counting Stock years ago at St john Bus. We had a blast.... he was kind, funny and smart. Another time Tony and Bonnie stopped in at the DOT in Sussex to let us meet sweet baby Maya, I remember she had a tiny toe ring on her tiny little foot and I will keep those good memories always.

To the entire Richards family.
Our deepest condolences go out to all of you at this time of loss. Tony was a great member of our Spar Cove Road family. Mom always spoke of how Bonnie and Tony kept in contact and checked up on her, even after they moved to Quispamsis. One memory that is embedded in most of us, is Tony, always digging for worms under the infamous crab apple tree to use for fishing. Oh..also that friendly smile and big hello he always had. Rest in Peace...friend.
Much Love from the SPAR COVE Eatmon Clan.

It was with great sorrow that I learned of Tony’s passing. We met decades ago on the ferry to Digby. I liked him immediately. Bonnie was with him. They were full of life - obviously in love, enjoying every moment, a handsome pair that might have passed for a Hollywood power couple. I seldom saw one without the other. Then there were three. They became good neighbours; you could always count on Tony: a nice man - steady, predictable and generous with his time. Not that he was a shrinking violet; if he disagreed, he’d let you know, and passionately if he felt strongly - but never in a disrespectful way. When I think of Tony I recall holidays: our family get-togethers at Christmas and the knock on Halloween. A great father to Maya, he drove her to activities and showed his support. Obviously proud of her many accomplishments, his face would light up whenever he spoke of her. Halloween was proof of this devotion; how many fathers do you know who not only take their kids trick or treating, but get painted and suited up with them? All three Richards would arrive on October 31st like clockwork, looking like something out of one of Tony’s favourite horror movies. Heather and I looked forward to it. I shall miss my friend Tony.

First, it is with total shock to hear of Tony's passing. I think I can speak for all my work colleagues in that Tony was an absolute gem of a person to deal with both professionally and personally. He was always fair, honest and grateful for things that others might have taken totally for granted. We will truly miss his polite humor, candid conversations and forgiveness he always showed us for those little things we might have forgotten to do.
For myself personally, I loved to call on him at his place of work which at one point was twice a week. He seemed very happy generally speaking and after our business dealings were over I loved to hear of the little things he might share about his family that he loved so dearly, short stories of things that interested him personally, and anything in the news that would cause conversation. Tony never had an ill word to say about anyone ever and at work I saw him as that person who saw the silver lining in a bumpy day - always!
To the Richards family, we know you know you have lost a truly special person, and one of whom is now harder to find. We know you will keep him in your hearts forever. May God bless and keep you all as you journey on.
Tony, may you rest in peace.

As a child , I remember Tony always fishing with my brother. They would spend the day trying to reel in that big one. Tony would always show me his catch at my request. One day he returned with two trout. One big one and a little tiny one. He was so proud of his catch for the day. I was excited to see and asked him I could have one. He only paused for a second before he gave me the biggest of his catch. I was elated. He told me to take it and give it to my mom to clean and cook. I've never forgotten that beautiful act of kindness. I've carried that gesture throughout mt life. It just takes something simple to make someone feel special. Thank you Tony for your kind heart..
My deepest condolences to the family.
You will be in my heart forever.
