Obituary of Louise Qaunaq
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Louise Qaunaq on July 29, 2020 at her residence. Born on April 14, 1967 in Igloolik, NU, she was a daughter of Ham and Lydia (Haulli) Qaunaq.
She was employed with Howard Johnson’s in the housekeeping department until 2016. She had a strong passion for fishing and long walks through nature. She had a talent for creating beautiful art, like her homemade jewelry, paintings, textile arts. Above all, she loved her children and grandchildren. Louise will be remembered as a loving daughter, mother, grandmother and sister.
Besides her parents she is survived by her children: Elizabeth Qaunaq, Shawn Qaunaq both of Igloolik, NU, Jerrod Briggs (Alicia) of Oromocto, NB, Joshua Bacon and Steven Bacon of Saint John, NB; former partner Jim Bacon; sisters: Joanna (Simon), Rosia, Hannah; brothers: Barnabas (Jeela), Gideon (Irene), Samson (Janet), Gordie (Jacqueline), Manasie (Alice), George, Joshua (Sheba); several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her former partner: George Briggs and two sisters: Rhoda and Deborah.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). By request there will be no funeral home visiting or service.
