Obituary of James Francis Owens
It is with heavy hearts the family of James Francis Owens wish to announce his passing on Thursday, August 13, 2020, peacefully at his home in Saint John. Born on April 14, 1931, the son of the late Francis C. and Florence (Halpin) Owens,
Jim is survived by his Son J. Michael Owens (Marilee Pinto) of Ontario and Daughter Alexis A. Vriezen (Chris) of Quispamsis, NB; Grandchildren: Michael F. Owens (Christina), Heather DeGraaf (David), Alexander Vriezen (Emily), and Kathleen Owens; Great Grandfather to Valerie, Theo, and Grace. Also survived by his travel companion and dear friend Thelma Rankine. Jim will be dearly missed by his many nieces and nephews, who over the years experienced his trademark quick wit and sense of humour.
James “Jim” was predeceased by his loving Wife of 52 years Joan; Brothers: William, George, and Edward; Sisters Frances, Patricia, Catherine and Elizabeth; and Daughter-in-Law Joanne (Johnston) Owens.
Jim Maintained a lifelong career as a commercial traveller and enjoyed a fraternity of fellow business colleagues and friends that endured throughout his lifetime. They were never at a loss to provide a view on the state of the world and how to remedy its many challenges. Several of those close friends have passed, for those that remain, he will be sadly missed.

But celebrate, that he was
