I tried earlier but I don’t think it worked so I will try again
I’m not sure of the year but on one of Jean’s visits to Yellowknife I was attending an Rcmp golf tournament in Fort smith NWT and took Jean with me. We flew on the police plane and when we got to our destination we were taken to the detachment in the back of the paddy wagon. I don’t think she ever had the experience locked in a police car again. It was a lovely day with a pig roast before we headed back to YK.

I am sending you our northern love and a virtual hug to hold you all tightly together. Every waking hour I hear Auntie Jean's wonderful laugh and she makes makes me smile. She was so easy to love but more importantly, she had an endless heart of love. I know she has placed deep seeds in all of us to find ways to love, to forgive and to overlook all of our differences - all in the name of God and Family. Auntie Jean and Uncle George were always our second family and our cousins are like brothers and sisters. Fowler Court and Green Acres always had doors wide open and time to gather. So I too, carry your heavy hearts as you head to Nannie's Wake and funeral to send her off in all of her glory. Special love being sent to our Aunties and Uncles as they say their farewells to their sister. Love to all, Cheryl, Ray, Devin and Liam

I’m so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. My late father worked with her and I remember that he had much respect for her always. Jean was always kind to me as a young Nursing Instructor and to the many student nurses from the Saint John School of Nursing. I will always remember that.

I want to send my condolences to Jeans family and friends. I was blessed to meet Jeans daughter’s - Janie(Billy) Debra and Elizabeth. I was welcomed into their home and had the pleasure of assisting with care and enjoyed spending time with Jean reading her favourite books. There is no greater honour than caring for a well respected RN whose life’s work was given to the care of many others. My memories will be cherished and may she rest easy knowing her family will carry on her traditions. Nora

My sincere condolences to Jean’s children and their families and to Jean’s sister’s and brothers and their families on their great loss. I first met Jean in 1958 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. I was in nursing school where I met Jean's sister Irene. After training Irene and I lived together before her marriage to John. I feel we are family! Jean ran the case Room at St. Joseph’s like a well-run ship. Always that smile, that sense of humour and great work ethic. Jean excelled in many things besides being a super nurse… cooking, knitting, quilting and on and on!
Rest in peace, Jean! A life well lived!
