Obituary of Janet Rose Clayton
Clayton, Janet Rose –
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Janet Rose Clayton, loving wife of the late Robert Clayton, announce her passing on September 18, 2020 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Nerepis, New Brunswick on September 10, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Dora (Chittick) Short.
Janet enjoyed making quilts, square dancing and socializing at kitchen parties with her friends. Most of all she loved being with family, especially spending time with her precious grandchildren.
Janet will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Deanna Chambers (David) of Moncton and Crystal Bennett (Chuck) of Sussex; sons, Murray Clayton (Heather) and Todd Clayton (Trena) both of St. Martins; brother-in-law, Eugene Clayton of St. Martins; sister-in-law, Lynn Cyr (George) of Taylor Lake; grandchildren, Brandi, Kara, Joscelyn, Brianna, Melanie and Trisha; great-grandchildren, Alex, Grace and Brandon; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Janet was predeceased by her grandson, Travis and brother, Leslie (the late Muriel).
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Guests are asked to enter the funeral home using the courtyard entrance where staff will greet and assist you with Covid-19 protocol. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM from Brenan’s chapel. Masks will be mandatory for the service at the family’s request. Interment will take place in Mosher Hill Cemetery in St. Martins. For those who wish, remembrances in Janet’s name can be made to Bobby’s Hospice. www.BrenansFH.com.
