I remember Johnny from years ago when he was a friend of my roommate Bear and my father in law Hump. A real sweet man. So cheerful and kind. He was a driver for pharmacy deliveries years later and was still the same. So sorry for your loss I also knew Desmond and his Momma when he was a little boy. John was so proud of family. My condolences to your family.

Dear Doug and Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Every time I met John, he always gave me a John Young smile. I think you would see that smile even with a mask on in today’s world as his eyes seemed to smile too. I will miss seeing him at the different events where we met. So sorry for your loss!

With deepest sympathy, I express my condolences to family and friends of a dear friend, Johny Young who left a favorable impression on myself as a child, youngfellow, and adult.Ever the conveyor of positive garnered knowledge of life as he experienced it, and his generous and unselfish personality, whether it was on the ballfield, hockey rink, or teaching a youngfellow from Upper Derby how to hold his hands to give or take a punch, Johny shared all, while showing mercy, pulling punches as he did so.Rest In Peace dear friend, and may God Bless you and your family.

When I saw the posting of John's passing, I had a feeling I knew who he was. Then I remembered that I met him officially 9 years ago at the 11th annual Hampton 5 Miler on September 11, 2011. His great comeback to our wonderful event where he walked 75% of the route! I unofficially met John as I was a few seconds behind him the prior year when I saw what I thought was a stumble & fall. The angels were watching over him that day as there were also nurses in the event that were right there. They were there at the right time & the RCMP officer that arrived before the ambulance that did CPR. It was a scary time with a fantastic outcome! I am sorry to read of his passing but glad he got another 10 years to enjoy life with his family & friends. My deepest condolences. Martha Ruddick of the Hampton River Runners.

Johnny was one of the happiest, most positive persons I have ever met. From a young age, he was so full of energy, always laughing and loving life. He put his "all" into everything he set out to do, whether is was preparing for a boxing match, or dancing and singing to "Johnny, Be Good"! He was one amazing nephew, whom I loved very much.
To his family who were so precious to him, let your beautiful memories sustain you during this very difficult time; and remember that he will continue to take care of you from "Up Above". May God Bless Each of You. RIP, Johnny!

To John's family:
How saddened I heard that Johnny had left this world and entered eternal rest. I want each of you to know that I will remember him this weekend at the Cathedral when Mass is celebrated and the Prayers of the Faithful will be offered. His name will be among those who have died this week.
As you know, during my pastorate at St. Mary's in Newcastle, I had the privilege of knowing his dear mother and many of his "Miramichi" siblings.
I will be offering a Mass for the repose of his soul. May he rest from his labours for his good deeds go with him.
Blessings to each of you, his family and many friends who were such a support to him during.
Father Doug
