Obituary of Larry Withers
Larry to most, Mister to few, and Unc to many adoring children young and grown has passed away on Friday September 18th, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with the love of his life, Sue Gagnon, by his side. Born December 6th, 1945, he was the eldest son of the late John and Dorothy (Slocum) Withers.
He leaves behind his sister, Jane (Bud) White; his brother, Paul (Roberta) Withers; and sister-in-law, Patti Withers; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews along with many close friends and extended family. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Tim Withers; and infant sister, Jessie Withers.
The Camp will never be the same. He has infused it with his welcoming spirit, hoping that generations to come will summer here together on the shore of the beautiful Saint John River.
Larry was at his happiest when he was surrounded by family and friends. He will be very lovingly remembered for puttering in the barn, whistling, and basking on the beach in the sun.
In keeping with Larry’s wishes, there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the camp next summer.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to The Evan Smith Memorial Fund or to the Saint John Regional Palliative Care Unit.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Condolences may be made on their website at www.BrenansFH.com or mailed to 9 Rockledge Court, Montreal, Quebec, H3H 1A5.
