Just seeing now that Cliff is no longer with us! Condolences to his family. He was my economics high school teacher,my favorite high school teacher, intriguing my interest in so many subjects in addition to economics. He also opened my eyes to some of the important things in life outside of academics.
He was a major factor and influencer in my choice of vocation and having retired have no regrets looking back. So sorry to see you go!

Jim and I wish to express our most heartfelt condolences to the family of Cliff Shea. We knew Cliff through the Carleton Community Center's Bridge group, which we always enjoyed. Cliff was such a dedicated leader of the group, who shared his expertise willingly and patiently. We were so sorry that the pandemic caused the Bridge group meetings to be cancelled, and especially that we weren't there to say "good-bye" when poor health caused him to withdraw from the group. We'll miss his colorful personality, his passion for Bridge, and his patience with those of us who were "newbie" players.

I was very saddened to hear of Cliff's death and extend my condolences to his family. I met Cliff through bridge. He was a great teacher and so willing to help a new player become a better player. He helped me and many other bridge friends during his weekly lessons and games at the Carlton Community Centre. I'll remember his oft-repeated mantra that bridge is a game of math, logic and probability. I looked forward to those afternoons as well as his jokes at the table. Rest in peace Cliff.

Sending my condolences to the family. I just spoke to Cliff a couple of months ago and we both walked away with tears after talking about my mom and his health during his recent cancer treatments. He and my mother who recently passed away in March were great friends. Mom would share her baked goodies with him and he would drive her to appointments and such. He was quite sad to lose one of his close friends so unexpectedly and now we are sad to see him pass. I am sure the two of them are up there now having a great chat. He truly was a great man that we all enjoyed talking to. He will be missed.

RIP Mr Shea (Cliff). Cliff was my economics teacher at SSHS in the late 60s. He was also friends of my parents who were both teachers so I got to know him fairly well. We lost touch for a few years after he left St Stephen, but I ran into him at Sobeys (West) a couple of years ago & we had a great chat. It was really good to see him again. He seemed like the Cliff from years ago. My condolences to all of his family. GOD speed.

I met Clifford when I was a young replacement teacher for grade 3 while Cliff was in grade 11. We shared a special bond throughout the years and I was privileged to have a poem written just for me which I put to music with his permission. I got to know his children and we enjoyed a few occasions together. My heart goes out to them and to Kenny, Bunny and the others. A friend I will never forget.

Dear family of Clifford...although it's many years since I saw Cliff in person we were pretty good email pals and less than two weeks before he died he wrote the most touching poem about ME as a child...imagine. My Mother loved his visits in those wonderful teen years! as we all did... It was very touching to receive that poem... & am thinking he did not get to read my joy/thanks as he was likely in hospital. Growing up he was like another brother as he was such a pal to my brother Stephen and Clifford Cooke...the 3 were a true "trio" & many, many friends...when I think of those wonderful times dancing wth them to Pat Boone's music, Elvis, Everly brothers etc. - WOW... they were such innocent looking altar servers as well! I did attend his marriage ceremony in NB travelling up with Dezi... amazing time. Hard times later on but always a kind/gentle man - that energy still surrounds. Very best to his children and Sheila, Jackie, Bunny and Ken...very very best, love judy (Donovan Whitty) PEI xo
