Obituary of Linda Ellen Steele
It is with heavy hearts and gratitude for a lifetime of memories that the family of Linda Ellen Steele announces her passing, which occurred on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, NS. Born in Saint John, NB on August 7, 1950, she was a daughter of the late William and Gertrude Bartlett (Murphy).
She met the love of her life Wayne P Steele in 1966, they married in 1972 and had two children (Bill and Jessica). Linda lived a life of love and family. Their home on Bradley Lake was the site of much love and excitement through the years. As time marched on the one constant was their never-ending compassion for anyone who came through their doors.
Linda will be missed by her children: William Steele and Jessica Steele (Matthew Ridgway) adopted daughter Nichole Laskey (Cam); and grandchildren; Stephen Ridgway, Zoey Furlotte, Pacey MacLean, Doug, Amanda, Aaron and Brad Whittaker; Sister Joan Richard nee Bartlett; Sister, Friend and caregiver Heather Melanson as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her beloved husband and soulmate Wayne Paul Steele in 2016; as well as siblings: Betty, Ruthy, Billy, Jimmy, Donnie, Nancy and Dawn.
Services are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Tuesday October 13 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Guests are asked to enter the funeral home using the courtyard entrance, where staff will greet and assist you with Covid-19 protocol. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday October 14, 2020 at 12:00 pm. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
