Obituary of Elbert Long
It is with broken hearts that the family of Elbert Long announces his passing, which occurred on Monday, October 12, 2020. Born in Passekeag, NB on April 9, 1945, he was a son of the late Elbert and Marjorie Long.
Elbert loved country music and playing cards with family and friends. His friends will miss his presence around the table at Tim Horton’s, drinking coffee and enjoying conversation.
Elbert will be missed by his beloved wife Evelyn (Connelly) Long; his grandchildren Shyann and Brandon Long; great-grandchildren Aleia Long, Aubrey Sparks and Sophie Long; his sisters Susan Woodley (Rus), Linda Cripps, Judy Russell (Ed); brothers John Long (Norine), Steven “Flat” Long (Yvette) and Gerald Long (Val); as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Elbert was predeceased by his daughter Lorine Long, his son Michael Long; his sisters Sylvia Chow, Dorothy Roberts, Betty Long and Margo Poitras; and brothers: George Long, Murray Long, and Ronnie Long.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Sunday, October 18, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Guests are asked to enter the funeral home using the courtyard entrance, where staff will greet and assist you with Covid-19 protocol.
