Obituary of W. Raymond Doyle
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Wilfred Raymond Doyle, husband of 70 years to the late Mary Helen (Arseneau) Doyle, announces his passing on November 10, 2020. Born in Saint John on November 14, 1928, he was the son of the late Nicholas Wilfred and Mary Frances (Boyce) Doyle.
Raymond had such a full life that there wouldn’t be enough paper to write all of his passions, accomplishments, business endeavours, and hobbies. He was a people person and would do anything for a friend in need. Raymond ran several businesses in Saint John during his life and was a prolific entrepreneur. He was also known for being the oldest real estate agent in the city, operating Raymond Real Estate for well over 60 years. He also helped develop Welsford Golf and Country Club. Most of all, he was devoted to his beloved wife Mary. Raymond worshipped the ground she walked on and was absolutely head over heels for her. Raymond and Mary went on to have a beautiful family, who were his light in life, and Mary would help him run his local businesses over the years. A kind and gentle spirit, Raymond was loving and loyal and will be incredibly missed by all who knew him.
Raymond is survived by his children: Theresa Arseneau of Saint John, Leonard (Kathy) of Baxters Corner, Martin of Trenton, ON, Robert (Pauline) of Port Moody, BC, Gregory of Saint John, Larry (Anita) of Musquash and Andrea Doyle (Tim Cobb) of Saint John; brother: Beverly; sisters: Gerada Frances, Sara, Audrey, Anita, and Jayne; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and his wife, Raymond was predeceased by his son John, brothers: Stanley, Kenneth, and Arthur; and sisters: Eleanor and Josephine.
