Obituary of Donald Edward Dempster
It is with great sadness that the family of Donald E. Dempster announces his passing which occurred on November 26, 2020, at Turnbull Nursing Home. Born in Saint John, NB, on July 9, 1933, he was a son of the late James and Charlotte (Crawford) Dempster.
Uncle Donald enjoyed spending time with his family whether it was family dinner or going to church. He was a man of great faith and loved to sing at church. He could always be found walking uptown or out at the mall with his favourite store being Value Village. He loved to draw and spent many hours doing so. He cherished his many pets over the years, especially his dog Benji. Donald had met many friends in his travels, whether on the city transit bus, walking around uptown, or many of the churches he attended.
The family would like to thank all of Donald’s caregivers within the last few years.
Donald is survived by his sister-in-law, Dot Dempster, and her children as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by his brothers, Bill, Henry, Clifford, Ernie (Infant) Dempster; sisters, Violet Reid, Lillian Kincade, Maggie Gray, Mary MacDonald, and also several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A private family funeral service will take place on Monday, April 26, 2021, at 10:30 AM. Those unable to attend are welcome to view the service via Livestream.
