Obituary of Gerda Jenny Klausen

 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Gerda “Jenny” Klausen at the Turnbull Nursing Home on December 4, 2020. She was born December 12, 1919 in Svendborg, Denmark.

In 1957 Jenny immigrated to Canada with her family and settled in Saint John. Over the years she was a member of the Saint John Gems Senior Club, Danish Society and the Lutheran Church. She loved to fish, garden, pick berries and do handicrafts.

Jenny is survived by her two sons Jorgen (Beth) Klausen of Saint John, Klaus (June) Klausen of Quispamsis, and her grandchildren Jeneca Klausen of Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia, Jill Klausen of Toronto and Kim Klausen of Ottawa. She has one sister Karen Hansen, nephews and a niece in Denmark.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Turnbull Nursing Home for the excellent care they gave Jenny over the years.

To honour Jenny’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424).
