I got to know Sr. Garneau during summers I spend in Edmonton. I met her at the Redemptorist student house, Clement House, and St. Alphonsus parish. She was such a wonderful presence there - such a commitment to the most needy in inner-city Edmonton. She is an example of how we are called to live our lives in service to others.

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Sr. Marion Garneau. I knew Sr. Garneau as an amazing teacher at St. Vincent’s High School and as a student studying in Rosary Hall in Fredericton. She touched the hearts of all those she met. Sr. Garneau was a warm gentle, fun loving individual who was truly interested in you. She always said that her life was enriched by the courage and faith of others. She was grateful and humbled to be a part of their lives. I am truly honoured and blessed to have had her in my life for so many years! Thank you Sr. Garneau for sharing your life with so many who needed you. Hugs and love!! Connie ( Nickerson) Vizirakis

Oh what can I say but love love loved her, When I was about 14 at St. Vincent's I had her for gym and on the volleyball team, she was awesome at the game and she would take the bottom of her habit and tie it up between her legs so she could run faster I know the other sisters just shook their head but we laughed and played and cherished her humor, I am 75 soon and never forgot her as many still won't. She is flying among the angels for sure, It was a joy to have her in a small piece of my life. Rest in Peace Sister Janet, as that is how I remember her

One of my favourite teachers at St. Vincent’s. She made transition to high school much easier. A kind and patient person.

Sister Garneau's joy for life shines through in memories of her today, 51 years since I was in her gr.10 class-off the gym. A terrific teacher, attentive to many concerns of young women, a religious leader with Sister Maxwell in folk masses and eyes that lit lit up when she smiled. May she rest in a well earned peace, Mary Ellen Wilson Maillet
