I was most fortunate to have met Maria through The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception where she attended Mass and helped to teach me how to be a sacristan. She was such a lovely and deeply spiritual woman who often spoke of her beloved family and friends. She will be greatly missed and always be in my prayers.

Please accept my deepest condolences Joe and the entire family of Maria. Maria and Charlie were very good friends to my mom and dad, Eszter (Marika) and Miklos Papp Simon. My sister and I called it the Hungarian connection. A large group of families whom all came to Canada and became a tight knit group that were like family to all of us as kids growing us. We spent countless hours at the point in Darlings Island fishing and picnicking and at Oak Point Beach together with Emma and Charlie and visiting with them in Redhead where they lived. Mrs. Kecskes as I called her was always very sweet to all of us, spoiling us as children. I feel lucky that I was able to see her in December 2018 when I was home for a visit. She was just as sweet and kind as always. I will keep you all in my prayers and thoughts. Rest in peace Mrs.Kecskes. xo

My deepest condolences to Maria's family. Maria was avery kind, strong woman and a very dear friend to me. She always helped anyone she could. I will never forget her kindness, support, love, and countless hours that she sat with me at the hospital during my daughter Maria's long battle with Cancer so I would not face it alone. She never expected anything in return. I will miss my dear friend. May she find peace with God. Sending my love to you all at this very sad time and will keep you in my prayers. She was a strong loving women, that did everything thing she could possible do for her family and friends. Remarkable women for sure, I admired her and hope to be half as kind and compassionate as she was. She has a special spot in my heart. Love you Chels. and your entire family.

I knew Maria's son Joe when he lived in London Ontario and was married to my sister Dianne. He quickly became one of our family and we had many good times singing while Joe played his guitar. Maria would come to London to visit and we soon realized what a wonderful woman she was. So sorry for your loss. Debbie Spence

Condolences to the Family. I have the privilege of working with her Grandson Cody at the IWK hospital in Halifax, who shares very fond memories of her. I did not get to meet her, but I can only imagine the amazing person she was, as Cody is a remarkable human being. Thinking of Cody and family at this time.

My heartfelt condolences to all Maria’s family. I first met Maria through the Charismatic Prayer group, when we drove to PEI for a conference. We became friends and confidents during that time.I so enjoyed her soft voice and gentle way about her and knew she would be a forever friend. Although we didn’t see a lot of each other when I moved from Saint John, I always was happy to see her when she would visit. She had a great love of Jesus and loved her family so much.I will never forget her. May she Rest In Peace.Keeping her family in prayer as they grieve their loss of their loved one... Andra Cawley
