Obituary of Barbara Sandner
It is with broken hearts that the family of Barbara Ann (Brennan) Sandner announces her passing on December 20, 2020 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Saint John on August 31, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Louise and William Brennan.
Barb grew up in Saint John, NB, and graduated from Vocational School in 1973. Barb worked at the Metropolitan Store on Manawagonish Road. Barb left Saint John in 1974 to join her future husband, Joe, and work in the family bookstore “Bookland” in Toronto, ON. Barb and Joe raised two sons, Joseph and Corey, who will miss her dearly. Barb was a great wife, mother, sister, and a kind and caring person.
Barb spent her summers in Saint John with her family, renting a cottage for everyone to enjoy. She loved to play cards, BINGO, and watching movies, and listening to the Bee Gees.
Barb is survived by sons, Joseph and Corey; sisters: Clara (John), Louise, and Loretta (Dave); sister-in-law, Sylvia (Paul); nephews and nieces: Stephen (Karen), Rich (Michelle), Kyle, James, Jenna, Cody, and Jason; and feline friends, Misty and Mint.
Barb was predeceased by her husband, Joe; parents, Billy and Louise Brennan; brother, Billy; sister-in-law, Dawn; several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John. A funeral service will take place on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 2 pm from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel. Those unable to attend will be able to watch a livestream of the funeral service by clicking on the link on Barbara's obituary on Brenan's website.
