Obituary of Dot Hatfield

 

The family would like to announce the passing of Dorothy “Dot” Hatfield on December 23, 2020 at St. John & St. Stephen Church Home in her 93rd year. Predeceased by her parents Thomas Pearson & Mary Alice Pearson (nee Granger).

 

Dot was also predeceased by her husband Douglas and her siblings Jennie, Peggy, Lillian, Jessie, Chris, Bill, Jim, Robert. Beloved mother of Leroy (Heather), Blake and Janine (Jessica). Cherished grandmother of Bonnie-Lee, Erin, Cal & Devin. Great grandmother of Cole. Dot was born in Centerville, NB and moved on her own to Saint John, NB at the age of 15. Dot had worked at the Cotton Mill and the Five & Dime before she met her future husband & together, they opened Dot’s Lunch which she ran for over 40 years. Dot thoroughly enjoyed being able to serve her community some hearty food & full bellies. The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at St. John & St. Stephen Church Home for their continual care over the years.

 

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Guests are asked to enter through the courtyard doors where staff will greet and assist you with Covid-19 protocol. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 10 am at Brenan’s in the chapel. Interment following the service at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
