Dear Dorothy and family. I want to add my tribute to one of the best people I’ve had the pleasure to know. I started ‘hanging out’ at Crystal Beach when I was around 13. At age 14 I was visiting when Mark arrived in Dot’s arms. That summer she hired me to work in the canteen (I would have worked for free just to be around Dave and Dot). I too remember him saying, “What’s up kid?” All we can wish is to be remembered after we die. Dave doesn’t have to worry about that. He’s unforgettable.
Sending love and condolences. Ross and Willa (Gorham) Mavis

Mark, I am very sorry for your loss. Being in the food business for many years I had the pleasure of driving up to Crystal beach every Tuesday. I was usually greeted by David at the gate and after 20 minutes of getting caught up on current events he sent me off to see the Boss. It was always the highlight of my week. I miss those times. May God Bless you and your family . Scott MacKnight

Aunt Dot, Leah, Mark and family. I was sorry to hear about Uncle Dave's passing. He was truly one of a kind with his easy laugh, his big rubber boots trudging across the field at the beach and his "What's up Kid". I hope you find some peace in knowing that so many people have such fond memories of him.

Dot Mark and Leah my sincere condolences. David's sense of humour despite his disease was so positive over the past 10 years as was the devotion.of all of you to his well being. Crystal Beach under Mark's tutelage remains a southern NB summer icon now in.its third Murchison legacy generation ownership despite the major river floods of 2018 and 2019.

Dear Dot, Mark and Leah - So sorry to hear of Dave's passing. So many memories of Dave and the whole family. And, of course, I loved Crystal Beach. I try to make it there every summer for a visit and catch up. The memories are with me everyday since I look out my kitchen windows and can see all of Crystal Beach and Mark's house and my parent's house. Dave always smiled and loved to laugh. A great guy for sure. RIP Dave. Hugs to all, Cousin Brenda and Winston Goodwin

I was saddened to hear of Dave's passing. After moving to the Miramichi in 1970 we lost contact but I have thought of him many times. Dave supported me when I became an apprentice at the Drydock in 1963. He was always willing to help the new guy at the drafting trade. I also remember him helping to deliver a television to our apartment on Sydney Street. My wife had made lobster sandwiches for us to have at noon. His funny comment was that he liked the lobster and my wife really liked her pepper. He always joked about that with me. I have many fond memories of Dave and my prayers and thoughts goes out to the family.

Dear Aunt Dot, cousin Mark and Leah, and extended Family, our deepest condolences from Dan, Liz, Kaelan, and Joshua Cosman.
I recall many memories of Uncle Dave as I was growing up. One memory that always stuck, was when I was very young, we stayed for a few nights in the Cantina with all of you. One morning, around the breakfast table, I remember asking Uncle Dave one time, why he always cut his hair so short? He paused for a moment, and said 'time'. Then he turned, grabbed a hot wet face cloth, and ran it across his head, and said, can you wash your hair that quick??? From then on, every time I saw Uncle Dave, I would say to him, "Hey Uncle Dave, you need a haircut".
Sadly missed, never forgotten.
And now I have short hair....
We have always really enjoyed being down at Crystal Beach, one of these days, maybe we can visit again.

To Dot, Mark (Tristan), Leah, and families, please accept my condolences on the loss of Dave. I first met Dot and Dave in 1964 when I became part of the Crystal Beach family. Dot and Dave welcomed my husband, Clyde and me, along with our two children. Dot and Dave were very hard working people. Dave knew how to make the children laugh, especially when he pulled them in his cart or wheeled them in his wheelbarrow. It was wonderful watching all of the children growing up and happy. I remember and still can picture Dot and Dave, sitting on the canteen steps, on the last day of trailering, saying goodbye to everyone. Dave will never be forgotten. My prayers are with all of you.

I first remember going to Crystal Beach one day in High School summer of '74(on the back of a motorcycle which my parents didn't know). My friend and I ended up having a 30 minute conversation with Dave and found him to be very interesting! Years later my Mom and I went and I found out she knew Dot and Dave. Everytime we went she was always chatting to one or the other. I always thought they were a very nice couple. Then years later I ended up renting a cabin and had great times with campers and also my grandchildren. Those summers I got to know Dot Dave Mark and Leah a lot better. Such a nice family! Have become friends with Leah who is just all around as nice as her parents! Dot Mark Leah Jasmine and Jade Jacqueline Ally and Luke so sorry for your loss. As well extended family members!
