Obituary of Charles "Charlie" Fillmore

It is with broken hearts and gratitude for a lifetime of memories that the family of Charles William Fillmore announces his passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, January 24, 2021. Born in Saint John on August 4, 1934, Charles was a son of the late Annie (Comeau) and Charles William Fillmore Sr. 

 

The world has lost a hero. A guardian in life, and a guardian angel in death. Charlie worked as a first responder, a police officer, and head of Security for Saint John's Bank of Canada on Prince William Street. He was a true gentleman, a loving father, doating grandfather and best friend of his loving wife Joanne (Alchorn) for over 65 years.

 

In addition to his wife, Charlie will be missed by his children: Chuck, Douglas, Donald, and Gail Crilley (Michael); his grandchildren, Pamela Bridgeo and Christopher; as well as one brother-in-law, many sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

He was predeceased by his parents; his Mother and Father-in-law, Arthur and Beatrice (McQueen) Alchorn; brother Walter, numerous brothers and sisters -in -law; as well as by his beautiful granddaughter Sadie Ann Crilley (2004-2017).

 

Charlie is resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) where a private viewing and funeral service will take place. A live stream of the funeral will be available on Charlie’s obituary on Brenan’s website starting at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 30, 2021. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
