Obituary of William "Bill" Munro
It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of William (Bill) L. Munro announce his passing January 24, 2021.Bill was born on October 7, 1936 in Saint John, N.B. and is the son of Ralph and Mary Munro.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, Bill is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, of 63 years. He is survived by his children David (Luanne), Brian (Katherine), Kimberley (Marc) and his most cherished, loved, and only grandchild, Lauren Munro. Bill is also survived by his sisters Mary Sullivan and Ruth (Dave) Durley, sister-in-laws Barbara (Carl) Bowland and Marlene (Bob) Munro, brother-in-law Bill (Pip) O`Neill and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy and his two brothers, Junior and Bob.
Bill had a long and successful career in Sales, which included national awards and recognition. He began his career with G.E. Barbour Ltd., and then accepted a position with MOIRS Ltd., where some may remember him as ``The Candy Man.`` Bill finished his career with UNILEVER Corp (Diversey Wyandotte).
Bill was a well known and respected man in the community. He was active for many years as Warden at his Church, rarely missing a Sunday service. He will be remembered as a family man and a friendly person who enjoyed conversation and meeting friends. He was a curious person with an active mind and through the years he and Shirley travelled with family and friends and was never one to turn down an opportunity to go on a cruise. Bill loved and lived for sports, playing many different sports over the years (Tennis, Golf, Badminton, Hockey) and was a 2 time City and District Table Tennis Champion. Bill lived a blessed life.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. David Bewick, the Heart Function Dept., and Dr. Gordan Holloway for their wonderful care and attention that Bill received. As well, special thanks is extended to Rev. Greg McMullin for his support and kindness through the years.
