I will count myself eternally blessed to have met and worked alongside Sheila in the Waterloo village community.I feel short changed in a way that it was only a few years but a blessed 2 years they were. The obituary summed up her life so accurately.when we first met at avenue B she didn’t know me from a hole in the ground but immediately took me aside and provided so much guidance then and in the days , weeks and months to follow. She asked nothing in return and gave everything she had to the people in the Waterloo village community.rest in peace my friend.

I've known Sheila for a very long time now. She was always there for me whenever I needed a shoulder to cry on. Even kidnapped me one morning after seeing me crying uptown and took me to her place. Made me feel cared for, offered me a tea, and even gave me a set of white xmas lights which I still have today hanging in my window, which I turn on every night. She had a huge heart and would help anyone (human or animal) who needed it. You're going to be greatly missed by so many. Till we meet again my friend. RIP Sheila. Xo
Your friend always, Tammy D.

Kind condolences to Sheila's family and friends. I met her about 10 years when I moved to Saint John. We used to have good conversations mostly about the people, places and things we cared about. I am sad to hear about her passing.

Sheila spent many hours in our office advocating for those who could not speak for themselves. Yes, she could be difficult, bur she never gave up fighting for what she thought was right. The street people of Saint John have lost a great champion. Thank you Sheila and may you RIP. Dr Ed Doherty former MLA Saint John Harbour .

Sheila was a staple in the Village; whether it was suppers at Outflow or holding court in the alley between Ave B and Fresh Start. One of my favourite memories is her making paper and painting Lois and I matching bird pics; i commented because birds are free and she corrected me that it was because we were two “birds of a feather” always squawking at her! She was funny, and yes, frustrating but she knew it and tempered it with care and concern, a giving heart for those who knew her and a desire to help and give back to her community! She was loved and will be missed.

R.I.P Sheila,
I remember you telling me to call you mama and that if I needed someone to talk to you were always there. And that you consider me as daughter and my children as your grandchildren.
It's hard to believe that you are gone but you will never be forgotten. You will always be in my heart and I will tell my kids what you were like a strong women!
Love and going to miss you xoxo
