Obituary of Lawrence Junior Ewart
It is with great sadness that the family of Lawrence J. “Larry” Ewart announces his passing, which occurred on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at the Loch Lomond Village – Maple House after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s. Born in Saint John on January 27, 1938, he was the only child of the late Elmer and Georgina (Stafford) Ewart.
Larry worked for many years as a Saint John City Transit bus driver. His love for driving took him on many road trips with his family all over Canada and the United States.
Anyone who knew Larry could attest that he was truly one of a kind. His sense of humour, singing and dancing made him who he was. He spent many years in the McAllister Place food court drinking coffee with his crew. He was popular at many uptown restaurants and Moosehead Small Batch and made friends everywhere he went.
Larry will be missed by his beloved wife of 62 years, Nina (Wadlin) Ewart; his daughters Wanda Bartlett (Byron) and Wendy Roy (Danny); cherished grandchildren, Lyndsay (Geoff), Brendan (Madison), Sara (Logan), Melissa (Shane) and Trevor; six-great grandchildren; and a special cousin, Norman White.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Due to current public health restrictions, the visitation and funeral service will be held privately. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Saint John SPCA or the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
