Obituary of Albert Dodd
With sadness, the family of Albert Dodd of Willow Grove, beloved husband of Christina (Gullage) Dodd, announce his passing which occurred on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born on April 18, 1945 in Saint John, he was a son of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Chase) Dodd.
Prior to his retirement, Albert had a long working career as a welder at Saint John Shipbuilding. This was a career he enjoyed and where many friendships were made. Albert will be fondly remembered for his kind and jokester ways, along with being a big old flirt…a flirt with no action. He was a passionate Toronto Maple Leafs fan, as he was patiently waiting for them to win the Stanley Cup once again. He also enjoyed a good game of 45’s, bowling and dancing. Most of all, he treasured his family and the times spent with those he loved. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife, Christina, Albert will be greatly missed by his children, Donna Rose, Matthew, Kenneth, Nathan and Julie; step-children, Crystal Bradley of Saint John, George Bradley (Barb) of Saint John and Jamie Bradley (Heather) of Willow Grove; sisters, Carol Bennett (Doug) of Saint John and Joyce Wall of Nova Scotia; special grandchildren, Joshua, Alicia, Heidi, Daniel, Nicholas, David and Emma along with many other grandchildren; adored great-grandchildren, Gabby, Bradley and Aubree-Lynn and two on the way, Kaiden and Kaiser; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Neddy (Albert’s twin) and Joe; as well as his sisters, Nellie “Joey” Thomas, Josephine Cormier and Jackie Cullins.
