My heartfelt condolences to Carol and the Patterson family.
I worked with Dr. Patterson for over 20 years at the St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home. It didn’t seem like work at all as he told me stories of his weekend fishing, trips away with family and we’d swap websites of the best travel destinations. He was our “Steady Eddy” with more patience than anyone I know. Climbing a tree while out at his camp ...”I get better reception here” he’d say while going over reports when he should’ve been relaxing. I will treasure those memories and the knowledge he shared. He was a special man for sure.

This is a small Tribute to where I spent most of my childhood at the cottage Dr P in the summer at Sand Point with his daughter Lisa., I still remember Jennifer and I reminiscing last summer what an amazing Dad he was that after working all day that all the kids would be lined up on the beach waiting for him to come home from work to take them Water Skiing. For me, this was especially special because born with a Terrible balance he would give us each 3 attempts and after 3 summers I finally got up! Finishing up riding into the sunset the last kid, with his Blue Denim shirt and blue Jeans and diet coke is one of the great memories of my childhood. Thank you Dr P you were loved because you gave Love to all.

It is hard to say how thankful we were to have Bill as our family doctor.
He was always open to discuss health issues and come up with a plan to deal with them. He was always there for us when we needed him.
He took care of my Mom and with his help my sister was able to get the care she needed and keep her home until she passed. Bill was a kind and understanding man and you could tell he was so proud of his wife and his children in the conversations we had over the years.
Luckily for us we had the chance to spend some time with one of his daughters as she grew up with our daughter and like her father she had the great smile and the warm heart .
He will be missed by many and his family has suffered a great loss but they also had the great gift of having him in their lives for all those years .

You can tell a lot about a person when his son proudly chooses him as his best man. And a lot about the son he raised. I’ll never forget Jeff stating without hesitation “my dad is my beat friend”. It was really touching.

It’s never easy to lose a husband and parent and grandfather. No matter how old we are, it hits hard.
Bill was a wonderful man. Loved and admired and used as a role model for many of us.
The lessons your dad taught you, the love he gave, the way he cared for people…all those good things live on in you his family.
All of you were his pride and complete joy. You all were a huge comfort to him over these past few months.
He made people feel special.
Loved life. And he lived it so. And was well loved.
He was many things in life but in the end he was DAD.
