I have enjoyed hearing so many stories over the years from working with Janice, some from her childhood years and times spent at the farm. He seemed like a kind gentleman and loved to hunt. I hope your memories help you through this difficult time. My deepest condolences to your extended family. May he rest in peace

Pat and family. Kerry was a great guy to be around, that subtle sense of humour either in the car on the long drive to Cornwall for the annual goose hunt or just sitting in the blind with others waiting for the elusive geese to make a grand entrance, or not.
A good friend lost too soon. Thoughts and prayers with you folks at this difficult time.

Having spent many a fun day at the Wilson house in my childhood I have a few fond memories that go beyond just normal kid’s stuff of rocking around the basement to the 45’s on the portable record player.
Whether we were allowed to or not (I’m a bit foggy on the rules), I remember popping into Kerry’s gun storage room and having my first experience in seeing how a hunting and gun aficionado displays their collections to enjoy and use. I’m guessing we were told not to go into that room and I definitely didn’t touch any of the guns (they seemed like displayed artwork to me) but Kerry was nice enough to share some of his joy of his hobby (passion?) with me. I remember being most fascinated by the shell building equipment he had and was given a great demo on how they worked.
I was also lucky enough to share a day or two with the family at their farm. Kerry gave me a lesson on a unique tree pruning method that has made an anecdote that has carried on into professional life. When you looked out the kitchen window to see the water, the evergreen trees were nicely pruned in the center so as to not obstruct the view. I think I asked how he managed to prune the tress so neatly and up so high. Whether his response was sincere or just pulling my leg he glibly said ’12 gauge shotgun’. I’ve shared that story with many friends and clients over the years. I haven’t yet had the opportunity to try it out.
And the final memory I’d like to throw out – I LOVED the Land Cruiser. I’m not sure whether I actually got to sit in it or go for a drive but they’ve always set my standard for the ultimate look for a 4 wheel drive!
Thanks for the great memories Kerry (and Pat – likely always Mrs. Wilson to me, and Lynne and Janice and Karen)
Keep safe and well,
Roddy

To Pat, Janice, Lynne,Karen and your families - words alone seem inadequate to express our shock and sadness at Kerry's sudden passing. He was a really good man whose love of and dedication to you all will be forever with you.
We have really great memories and stories of our years as friends, neighbours and the times at the woodlot and hunting camp. Looking forward to the time when we can share them.
Our hope and trust is that loving memories sustain and comfort you as you move forward through this difficult time.
Love & Hugs

I met Kerry at Saint John High School in 1956 and we became lifelong friends. His mother, Helen, kind of adopted me, even giving me a 1937 Dodge Coupe (that was not running) in 1963. It came with the name "Matilda" and after I got it on the road it greatly enhanced my social life in my final year at UNB.
I duck-hunted opening day at the Wilson farm for over a quarter of a century and Sue and I enjoyed the ensuing annual game dinners. The photo of Kerry on the tractor was taken at the Wilson farm. John Harrison is on Kerry's lap and Sue Harrison and Bill Wilson (Kerry's father) are walking behind.
I spent a lot of time at the Wilson farm - Mrs. Wilson even assigned me a bedroom! I helped on the farm (mainly mowing the fields) when Kerry was away at university. The Wilson and Harrison families remain close friends, now for over 60 years.
Kerry was fortunate to survive his eighty years as he almost lost it in the late 50's. A bunch of high school friends decided to explore an old river boat, the Majestic, that was abandoned in a field near Hampton. As we were walking around on the deck Kerry managed to step into an open manhole with both feet. His feet hit the ground at the moment his chin hit the deck, so instead of suffering a broken neck he just had a gash under his jaw!
I join you, Pat and family, in grieving the loss of Kerry!
