Obituary of Bob Reid
It is with broken hearts, the family of Robert “Bob” Albert Reid announces his passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, May 16, 2021, with family by his side. Robert was born October 18, 1934 in Summer Hill, Queen’s County. He was the son of the late Albert and Edith (Dale) Reid.
Robert retired from NB Tel after 40 years of dedicated service and an award for 40 years of Safe Driving. Anyone who has bowled in Saint John in the past 50 years has probably bowled with or against Robert, as bowling was his life. His favorite trips were to Halifax in the spring and fall to compete with his Nova Scotia Telephone counterparts. Robert was a member of the Grand Bay Cloggers for many years and travelled to Florida and Tennessee, USA, to enjoy the National Clogging Conventions.
Robert is survived by his two sisters, Annie Lyon and Alma Reid; nieces and nephews, Dale and Donna Lyon, Brian and Heather Lyon, Glenn and Carrie Lyon, Dawne Jewis, Brenda Lyon, Brent Lyon and Philip and Heather Reid. Robert is also survived by his special children, Gerard (Christine), Lisa and Cherielyn Savoie; grandchildren, Blair, Chantelle, Brandon and Riley. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Clifford Lyon, and longtime partner, Bernadette Savoie.
Bob was a kind, considerate, generous, even-tempered man who was much loved and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends, especially his 10 PM Tim’s buddies.
