Obituary of Peter Leger
It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Michael Leger announces his passing on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at his residence. Born in Saint John on April 12, 1944, he was the son of the late Oscar and Mary (Ballard) Leger.
Peter was a long-time educator and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He loved to swim and was an avid sailor owning many sailboats over the years. Peter also enjoyed Judo. He was a master builder and woodworker and took great pride in his craft.
Peter is survived by his children and grandchildren; brothers: Roger Leger (Rose), and Jim Leger; sisters: Jeanne Majeski (Peter), Carol McFee (Gordie), Mary Joyce, and Barbara Roberts; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Peter was predeceased by his brother John.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Parish - St. Matthew's Worship Site, 45 Dollard Drive, Saint John, on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at 10am. Interment to follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Chapel Grove. A reception will follow at the home of Roger and Rose Leger.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). For those who wish, remembrances to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.brenansfh.com.
