Obituary of Mary Wanamaker
WANAMAKER, Mary Sutherland (Dobbin)
The death of Mary Sutherland (Dobbin) Wanamaker, wife of the late Millard Charles Wanamaker of Rothesay, occurred June 20th, 2021 at Embassy Hall, Shannex, Quispamsis, N.B.
Born in Rothesay, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Dobbin. She was a lifelong resident of Rothesay and a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, a former Sunday school teacher and a member of St. Paul’s chancel guild. A graduate of Rothesay Consolidated School, she was employed for several years at Dr, Jack Thompson’s dental office in the Rothesay Medical Centre. She later joined her husband in the family business, managing Rothesay Taxi Company.
Surviving is her daughter, Debra (Robert) Thompson, New Minas, N.S, grandchildren Ainslie Thompson (Julien Genereux), Calgary, Alberta and John Patrick (JP) Thompson (Sally Peters), Sydney, Australia, one great-grandchild Archie Thompson, Sydney, one sister Sheila Dobbin Hinder, Townsville, Australia and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Millard, she is predeceased by brothers Allan and John (Jack) Dobbin and sister Charlotte Smith.
She will be fondly remembered by many friends and family.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B. (506) 634-7424 there will be a visitation on June 24th from 10am to 12 noon. Guests are asked to enter through the courtyard doors where staff will greet and assist you with Covid-19 protocol. A funeral will be held June 24th at 1pm in Brenan’s chapel and will be live-streamed. Guests who plan on attending must register by email via registrations@brenansfh.com. Interment will take place at St. Luke’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Gondola Point Road.
Remembrances may be made to Canadian Heart and Stroke, Canadian Cancer Society, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.
