Obituary of Jim Wiggins
It is with broken hearts that the family of James “Jim” Arthur Wiggins, loving husband of Marina Wiggins, announce his passing on Monday, July 12, 2021at the Saint John Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Saint John, NB on August 19, 1940, he was a son of the late Arthur and Jean (MacAfee) Wiggins.
In his younger years, Jim was employed in the construction industry working for various companies in Saint John including Ocean Steel, Strescon, Murray Jarvis and Doug Watson. He also taught concrete for two years at the New Brunswick Community College in Saint John. Jim loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was also an avid wrestling fan and loved watching it on TV. It was well known that he could fix just about anything. And then there’s the pickup truck – he loved his pickup truck! Above all, Jim loved his grandchildren and especially enjoyed having a special bond with his granddaughter, Jamie Lynn.
Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Marina; sons, Art (Vicki) of Alberta, Pat (Linda) of Ontario, Doug (Kim) of Passekeag, NB and James (Natalie) of Quispamsis, NB; brother, Bobby of Apohaqui, NB; grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Sean, Cheryl, Jeffrey, Stephen, Nathan, Alex, Amanda, Jamie Lynn and Alison; great-grandchildren, Amelia, Carly, Emily, Lily, Melody, Alexander, Nicole, Logan, Jacob and Preston; brother-in-law, Roy (Suzanne) of Rothesay; special nephew, John Hubley and best friend and cousin, David Stafford (Dot) as well as several nieces, nephew and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his sister and brothers-in-law, John and Earl Hubley.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visitation will be on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 31 Gondola Point Road, Rothesay, NB followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by visiting Jim’s obituary. For those who wish, remembrances in Jim’s name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. www.BrenansFH.com.
