Obituary of Cajetan Joseph Maillet
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Cajetan Joseph Maillet, loving husband of Therese (Leger) Maillet, announce his passing on Monday, August 9, 2021, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born September 27, 1933, in St. Louis-de-Kent, NB, he was a son of the late Augustine and Obeline (Daigle) Maillet.
Cajetan began his work in the Royal Canadian Air Force, and then at various jobs before retiring after several years as a Commissionaire. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his wife, Therese, Cajetan is survived by his daughters, Sandra Atkinson (Danny) and Sharon Maillet; son, Mark Maillet; brother, Leonce Maillet (Linda); brother-in-law, Aldei Robichaud; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sons, Robert and Darren; sisters: Rita Sonier, Jean Robichaud, and Carmella Archer; and brothers: Aurelle, Eddy, Allison, Larry, Rufin, and baby brother, Leonce.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), where visiting will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021, from 2 to 5 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, August 13, 2021, from Holy Spirit Parish- St. Rose Worship Site at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Augustine’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Mental Health Society or the Saint John SPCA- Animal Rescue would be appreciated by the family.
