Obituary of Audrey Melanson
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Audrey Vernice Melanson announces her passing on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at The Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on July 8, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Chris and Hazel Mitchell.
She was predeceased by her husband Albert Gordon, her Parents Chris and Hazel Mitchell, Sister Betty, and Son in Law Donnie.
Audrey is survived by her five Children Christine (Gerald), Marlene, Nancy (Paul), Linda (Sonny), and Cynthia. Her Grandchildren Elizabeth, Tanya, Leigh-Anne, Jason, Lori, Jeff, Carrie, Jennifer, Matthew, James and Sarah, twenty great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Palliative Care Unit of The Saint John Regional Hospital for the wonderful care Audrey received. Audrey and Albert were happily married for 41 years until Albert passed in 1989. Mom was strong-willed, determined, strict and funny. She enjoyed sewing, painting, reading, and camping with her family. SHE had a strong faith in God which she instilled in all the girls. She will be loved and dearly missed by her family.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A public visitation will be taking place on Sunday, September 19th, 2021 from 2-4 pm. The family has requested a private celebration of life with viewing an hour prior on Monday, September 20, 2021. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Audrey’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
