Obituary of Therese Marie Alvida Maillet

With broken hearts, we announce the untimely passing of our dear mother, grandmother, and sister, Therese Maillet, on Friday, September 17, 2021, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, nearly six weeks after the passing of her beloved husband, Cajetan Maillet. Born January 17, 1935, in Grand Digue, NB, she was a daughter of the late Donat J. and Aurore M. (Hebert) Leger.

Therese was a woman of great faith and was a long-time parishioner of Holy Spirit Parish- St. Rose Worship Site.

Therese is survived by her daughters, Sandra Atkinson (Danny) and Sharon Maillet; son, Mark Maillet; sisters: Eva LeBlanc (Aurel), Patricia Babineau (Adrien), and Gilberte Savoie (André); brother, Donald Leger (Linda) as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Besides her parents and her husband, Cajetan, she was predeceased by her sons, Robert and Darren Maillet; and sister, Rhea Leger.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), where visiting will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from 2 to 5 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from Holy Spirit Parish- St. Rose Worship Site at 12 noon. Interment will follow in St. Augustine’s Cemetery.

Due to COVID-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all of those 12 and over attending the Mass of Christian Burial will be required to show proof of vaccinations and a piece of government-issued ID, or proof of medical exemption.

For those who wish, remembrances to the Red Head Strays or Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.BrenansFH.com.
